A group of young men aged 15-25 from Torfaen have been involved in producing a video about preventing domestic abuse, which will be aired on ITV this summer.

The young men are members of the Brothers project, run by us and Charter Housing. It focusses on safer relationships, equality and positive mental health.

The Brothers worked closely with Women’s Aid and Fixers UK to make the video called SNAP, which was funded by Torfaen Youth Services and young person’s volunteering organisation, GwirVol.

Dafydd Hellard, one of our employability and volunteering officers, said: “We are really proud of the work The Brothers have put into making this video and of the coverage it will get on ITV.

“We hope its key message of how to pick up on the subtle signs of domestic abuse and where to go for support will have a powerful impact.”

The video, which you can watch below, features in a series of workshops The Brothers will be delivering to other young men in Torfaen and Newport to increase their awareness and understanding of domestic abuse and to help them challenge it in a safe way.
