We will consider the following when deciding upon the type or number of pets in a property.
- Property size
- Property type
- Household occupants / family size
- Any contract management concerns within the past 12 months (poor condition of property/garden)
- Species of pet
- Alterations required to the property to keep the animal ‘well.’
Pets we do not allow.
- We do not allow any animal listed in the Schedule of the Dangerous Wild Animals Act 1976, or The Control of Trade in Endangered Species (Enforcement) Regulations, under any circumstances.
- Dogs listed under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 (excluding those that have gone through the legal exemption process) may not be kept in a Bron Afon property under any circumstances.
- Dogs that have gone through the legal exemption process (notably XL Bully) OR dogs that are specifically used for working purposes will be allowed be kept within a Bron Afon Property with evidence provided to Bron Afon of the following:
- Certificate of exemption (with microchip number) to keep an XL Bully dog or other dog breed.
- Evidence of third-party liability insurance
- Appropriate equipment to remain compliant with legislation (Lead & muzzle) within public areas.
- The animal being kept in a safe place so it cannot escape, this may include a secure cage.
We expect you to be a responsible pet owner.
You must make sure your pet, or the pets of any visitors to your home, do not cause any annoyance to neighbours. Pets must be kept under control, and you must clean up after them.
