Support if you are struggling
We know times are tight for many of our customers. If you’re struggling with your energy and water bills, or if you need a voucher for a local foodbank, there is support available. Here are some organisations that can help: Priority Services Register (PSR)
The Priority Services Register (PSR) is a free service you can join that provides extra advice and support, including when there’s an interruption to your electricity or gas supply.
Find out if you are eligible to register for PSR services here
Energy Provider Hardship Fund
Some of the energy providers have their own hardship funds, for example, Octopus Energy have the Octo Assist Fund and are taking applications for a winter fuel assist payment up to £200. British Gas will support customers of any provider but the customer will need to have had specialist debt advice to access.
Here’s a list of energy providers with hardship funds:
Discretionary Assistance Fund (DAF)
The Welsh Government’s Discretionary Assistance Fund (DAF) | GOV.WALES gives you access to the Emergency Assistance Payment, which you can use to pay for food, utilities, and emergency travel.
